Nick Larson and his best friends Trevor Eastman and Amanda are celebrating the twentieth-fourth birthday of his girlfriend Julie Miller in a beautiful lake on a Sunday morning. Nick is expecting to be promoted in the company where he works, and Julie is planning to move to his place instead of going to New York for her Master degree. However, Nick is called by his colleague Dave Bristol, who is disputing the promotion with Nick, for a meeting with a client. While on the road, Nick has an accident and Julie and his friends die. Well, OK, I know a lot of sequels to movies aren't 'necessary.' But while the first movie was good although not great, I realllly don't see a need to grind out a sequel for it. Were any new concepts introduced? Any questions answered that were left unanswered from the first movie? It would be like trying to do a sequel of 'Donnie Darko' with all new characters. What would be the point?Well I need a few more lines of text before I can submit this so I guess I will propose the question of. What other sequels out there do you find entirely unnecessary?

Or its flip-side, what sequels have surpassed the originals in quality? I can think of 2 right off hand. Terminator 2 and Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan. I am sure there are plenty more opinions out there. Robert.
