Using WiFi to connect your NAS to your network infastructure is a huge mistake.

Performance will be horrible. You won't be able to watch HD video. For best performance your network should be Gigabit throughout, with your NAS connected directly to your 'Gigabit' Router by a short CAT5e/CAT6 cable.

(I believe QNAP provides a 1m (3ft) cable with your NAS). As you don't need to look at your NAS to use it, can't you simply put your NAS right beside your Router, so you can direct-connect it with a short cable?Patrick.
