'It's watermarked because it's a trial version.' Even 3ds Max gives you a 30 day fully functioning demo, and thisis a $3500 program. They go to great ends to protect a $130 program.Never was able to get cS4 to load anything XDCAM-ish through thebrowser, again it doesn't work as advertised.Anytime I need to go Mac to PC, I will henceforth convert to ProRes,as this is a rock solid codec, and it actually does work!I'm not too happy about this, but the reason I bought the CS4 suitewas for the so-called out of the box XDCAM support, which doesn'texist. Thanks for your help.Over and out. You need to copy your BPAV over to your PC, not the transferred footage that is probably ProRes on the Mac, which is not compatible with Premier on the PC.Brent DunnOwner / Director / EditorDunnRight FilmsDunnRight Video.comVideo Marketing Toolbox.netSony EX-1,Canon 5D Mark IICanon 7DMac Pro Tower, Quad Core, with Final Cut StudioHP i7 Quad laptopAdobe CS-5 Production SuiteI will try that!Bye the way, ProRes is 100% compatible on the PC, as long as youhave the most recent QT player. Mar 17, 2011 hi guys! Are there any rumors out there that a simple export of a clip or sequence with hopefully 8 audio tracks to a quicktime or mxf with xdcam hd 422 codec might be possible in the future? Hate to say it, but f.ing FCP can do that and i hate to go down that road!
Not a QuickTime file, but with MC 4.0, only works on Windows, a XDCAM OP1a MXF file can be written back to an AMA mounted folder.Place a blank XDCAM HD folder structure on a drive.Use Link to AMA volume for the empty folder. A bin will open and an error dialog that no clips were found.Close the bin and delete it.Select a Sequence or clip and Output Export to Device XDCAMUnder Target XDCAM Disk, Select the path for the AMA Volume.Select the desired Video FormatAnd OK.This will create an XDCAM HD OP1a MXF file in the clip folder that can be played by the XDCAM Viewer and imported back into Media Composer. For some odd reason, the audio is distorted with the VX-10 player on Windows, but VLC on Windows and the XDCAM Transfer application on the Mac works. The clip will have the correct Time code of the sequence or clip. What this won’t do is create a whole XDCAM HD disk, with the Proxy etc.
The clip in this folder will not work with AMA.It will also write over any clip that’s added. If C0001 is in the clip folder, and another clip is written to the folder, it will be written over with no prompting.
Hi Bob,is this the only way to export XDcam HD (4:2:2) without using a device like Sony-U1?(and will it work with MC 3.5.4?)I don´t understand, why Avid did not made an export setting 'XDcam'. It would be very handy to export sequences on harddrives instead of using ProDisks. Please specify 'Place a blank XDCAM HD folder structure on a drive.'
How exactly should this folder look?I am trying to find an alternative export method, so I don´t need to buy another hardware (like U1).Since the TV company insists in getting the films as ProRes 4:2:2 or XDcam HD I have no luck using DNxHD.Thanks for your help!Thomas.
