Open PCServer-KFGame.ini and add this line underneath the official mapsKF-Nuked KFMapSummaryMapName=KF-NukedReplace the map name with the name of the map you installed. You also don't need the screenshot path that many people show you do, makes no difference.Last, open and find the line IpDrv.HTTPDownload. Add that redirect link under it. Should look like this now:IpDrv.HTTPDownloadIt's also important to mention that the map file you installed to the maps folder matches the file on the redirect, or the server will get a mismatch error. Best to download the map you want from the redirect.Save and launch server. In web admin, go to map cycle and add the new map to the active cycle so people see it in the voting screen.

Can you also explain how to do it via workshop?

Yeah, open PCServer-KFEngine.ini first.Find the section IpDrv.TcpNetDriverAdd this line 'DownloadManagers=OnlineSubsystemSteamworks.SteamWorkshopDownload' to that section above any other'DownloadManagers=' lines. Now to scroll to the bottom and add the followingOnlineSubsystemSteamworks.KFWorkshopSteamworksServerSubscribedWorkshopItems=This where you will add Workshop map ID's. So here's one for an exampleOnlineSubsystemSteamworks.KFWorkshopSteamworksServerSubscribedWorkshopItems=644068210 // Shopping SpreeYou can get the Workshop ID number from the URL when visiting a Workshop map pageSave and launch the server, you'll see Item State 0 which will begin to download the map.Close the server and go the Cache folder in KF2serverKFGameCache and you'll see the numbered folder downloaded. Open it up just so you can see what the filename of the map is.
KF-MapName.kfmOpen PCServer-KFGame.ini and add that map file name to the list of other maps just like you would do adding any other custom map.KF-MapName KFMapSummaryMapName=KF-Nameand then add it to the Map Cycle too and you're done. Originally posted by:A redirect ist he way to go for 2 reasons.First, no mismatch errors for clients.Second it uses less drive space as the workshop installs multiple copies of the map on the server. The only negative to a redirect is that if a map is updated by the author you will have to update the redirect and game server manually.Mismatches are still very possible for redirects. Everything else is true though but I wouldn’t say a redirect is the way to go. Workshop is much faster and files are compressed. The server is running and the map is loaded for me (Host), but when people who join the game who didn't previously own the map. It's not letting them download.

Hi, im trying to add workshop maps to a server I rented from NFO via FTP, and so far ive gotten as far as the step where im supposed to find my cache file, as i cant seem to find any folder by the name of KF2serverKFGameCache. Furthermore i noticed after starting the server all my changes to the ini files are reset, could it have anything to do with the automatic daily restarts? Im at a complete loss here since most of the guides seem to refer to creating a local steam server, which isnt an option for me since i have no clue how to get into my router to open the ports (steam server crashes on trying to update).

Make sure to check the Linux directory as well. Last server I was using had all the necessary files in the Linux section. Adding workshop maps is as easy as adding a few lines once you find your file, make sure to consult this guide:If you still can't find your files, could you share your file-tree via pastebin?
Also, try consulting the support for the server hosting service, if it's tailored towards game hosting, they'd be able to help you out.(also, holy necro, this thread is ooolddd!).
