  • Mamas papas skate for sale: Mamas and papas skate pram: 28 £ / Mamas x comes with extra cosy liner. Looking for a Nantwich Mamas and Papas Skate (Primo Viaggio) Pram and Travel System. Mamas & Papas Armadillo Flip XT Stroller in.

We have had our pram for a bit over 20 months and have not used it in a good 4 months. I bought it thinking it was beautiful compact and easy to use. It is poor quality for the amount of money we paid im disgusted at how this pram has held up. From word dot it was squeaky didnt fit together smoothley and dindt look as comfortable at the pictures. The frame its self doesnt snap together properley and to secure it you have to jerk it the seat itself wobbles and my son has almost fallen out a few times. Just ridiculous.

Had the Mamas & Papas Mylo for 2yrs now since birth.Handy having bassinet and stand for first 4months from birth.Pram withstands every thing we have chucked at it even some 'off road terrain'. (although its very bumpy - no suspension) Smooth on urbane/city paths. Turns a breezeEasy operation dismantle and setup.Handy being able to turn Bassinet or Capsule to face opposite direction especially if walking into the sun.Bit fiddly at first but easy to take apart and place fabric part in wash on gentle cycle.Handy little pouch underneath, surprising how much of a grocery shop you can fit in.Suspension would be nice but nothing about this pram is for 'off road'This is our first Pram so nothing to compare it too. Bias - we love it.Easy setup/dismantle, rugged/sturdy, great design.Stiff ride (no suspension), needs space for more storage.

I read these reviews before purchasing our Mylo but did not have the same issues. We purchased this over a Joolz Day as the folding mechanism is so easy and can be done one-handed. The person who got their hand caught is an unfortunate mishap but I can't really see that happening unless you aren't thinking.I constantly get compliments for its design and individuality. It's got a great turning circle and easy to walk with particularly as my husband and I are both tall.

The bassinet is great but my daughter didn't really like to sleep in it when she got older and it was great that it was able to rock when placed on the ground. My only really negative is the suspension, it's ok but a bit bumpy on rough terrain. This pram is really made for urban living rather than taking it off-road.

All in all I love it and the second time around Id probably be swayed by the Mylo2.Great design,We returned our first Mylo as there was a crack in the frame that appeared but it was easily replaced at our point of sale. Have had no issues since. We bought the mylo pram last November. Since then we have had countless problems with it and given the money spent on the product from a supposed trusty dealer, the faith I now have in mamas and papas is non existent.

Since buying the pram the break has had a mind if it's own.if it decides its going to stay in the locked position then it will and you could spend five mins trying to get the pram to move. Even with this fault though I looked beyond it as my partner and I had fell in love love with it. The first main fault involved the carrycot.there was a flaw one length of it! Unimpressed we took the carrycot back to the shop and they replaced it straight away but obviously had never seen this before.yeah ok.Ofcourse not! Next fault when our wee one was two months old. Lifting the car seat out the car one day the mechanism on the handle snapped allowing the handle to move freely around the carseat.

You can imagine my shock and disgust. Off we went again to the shop.the shop assistant was equally horrified at what had happened and straight away we got another carseat. Obviously they had never encountered this before?! Cue the next fault which happened recently while my nine month old was in the pram. While crossing the road the front wheel fell off completely. Obviously horrified and a nervous wreck I once again waited on hold to mamas and papas customer services for 25 mins and then had to take the pram to the shop again. We received a total refund and again the staff had never encountered this problem.

Mamas And Papas Skate Pram Instructions

Spend your money elsewhere folks. The quality of the mylo is utter garbage and unsafe. I've lost all faith in mamas and papas. The staff in the shop on each occasion could not be faulted so fairdos to them.It looked good.Unsafe.

Rubbish quality. Please, please, please check your Mylo’s straight away! I tried to post my review on M&P website but it's been 'rejected'! How convenient M&P!!As most of first time mums I've spent ages researching and looking for a perfect pushchair.

I fel in love with Mylo from a first sight. It stands out from all other pushchairs in the market plus it's Mamas&Papas, brand you can trust! So you think! I've had great experience and service from M&P until last month when I had to take my Mylo back to the store after discovering that the tube inside the handle is broken and the whole handle comes off. I have no idea how long it's been broken for and how nor when did it happen, as you can’t see the damage from outside.

We only discovered the damage as we were adjusting the handles and checking if they're locked, as they seemed loose. At first, it seemed normal, but when we extended the handle to a full length the whole handle on the right hand side came off to our horror and you could see the tube that's inside the handle and which holds the pushchair together snapped in half! I was terrified. It came to my mind what would have happened if we didn't discover this and took our 20 month old son out for a walk or shopping trip. I don't even want to think what could've happened!

Imaging going down the escatator in a shopping centre or tube station!! I took the buggy to the store I got it from, complained and requested a refund.

I was told that my Mylo has to be sent to the head office first for inspection and that I will be contacted to discuss the outcome before anything was done to my Mylo. The shop assistant even checked my mobile no to be able to contact me even while on holiday.

I specifically said that don’t want it repaired. We got a loaner from M&P but I ended up buying my own stroller, as the one we got was terrible, I got blisters on my hands after just one trip to the shops and as we were going on holiday I needed something I could rely on. While on holiday, I received a text from M&P that my Mylo is fixed and I can pick it up! Imagine how confused and angry I was! I decided to wait till we’re back in the UK before contacting M&P as I wasn’t prepared to wait on the lain for half an hour to speak to customer services and end up with huge phone bill. Back in the store I was given fixed Mylo and was told after long discussion, that before they consider an exchange, forget the refund, I would have to risk my baby’s health and safety or his life three times!

Don’t get me wrong! It’s great that M&P offers free repairs during guarantee period and I wouldn’t even mind paying if this was something you could see.

I still loved my Mylo even though it had quite a few other problems like coming off basket, locking breaks, etc that others also mentioned in their reviews. But this fault is impossible to notice until it is too late! In our case we’ve noticed it before it was too late but I’m scared it will happen again and I’m not willing to take the risk.

On every occasion I spoke to M&P, in store, on the phone or e-mail, my concerns are dismissed but no one can guarantee that this will not happen again! When I asked what safety tests are Mylo’s subjected and if the handles are tested too I wasn’t given an answer. And couldn’t find one either On top of this when I took my “fixed” Mylo out of the car after picking it up from the store, I found out that the locking mechanism doesn’t lock when you unfold it, so that is how they fixed it.

Would you put your baby back in this pushchair? I don’t think so!

In the end I’m left with a useless and dangerous pushchair that M&P doesn’t want to hear about! So please think twice before you decide to buy Mylo or anything else from M&P. Or in best case scenario you could end up with useless pushchair that you could easily replace, but you could also risk your baby’s safety or even life! I loved this pram when we bought it - before I had a baby. Tarot iron man 650.

We were feeling very happy with ourselves for snapping it up half price too. It looked great and I was excited to use it. However, when our baby was 5 days old my husband lifted the pram out of the car and it snapped open on his finger. His finger was hanging on by skin only, it snapped the bone and crushed the nerve. And Mama's & Papa's say there is nothing wrong with it!

If you look at the folding mechanism there is a dangerous hook that is exposed. I would not risk buying this pram!I have a babyjogger now and I love it.The way it lookedDangerous - husband almost lost a finger. When i went to view the mylo at first i thought wow very stylish and looks comfy for the lil one to be.However, when i came to use it a totally different story. The handle is too far away from your lil one so you have to stop when you need to attend to him. You cannot fit it on most buses and it is soooo heavy. May i also add do not buy if u have a little car it doesn't even fit in the boot.and as for the easy fold WHATEVER.most awkward thing to fold. 3 words to describe this pram-Awkward-heavy-horrible.lil one looks comfyexpensive, awkward, heavy, the handle is too far apart, hard to fold, too large to fit in a small car boot.

Its everything we expected from the pram. The price had dropped significantly so it was a choice of a second hand Bugaboo or the Mylo. After talking with a friend and playing with their Chameleon, the verdit is its rubbish for the price.

Stay away from that junk! Our runner up was a Silver Cross Surf.

Its light and nimble but it appears a toddler will easily outgrow it. The Mylo is not without its faults and accessories can be expensive (hint - shop around deals can be found). We bought the stand so the cot could sit in it and so the seat unit can be placed on it at the table, which is handy when eating out. Its 4.5 stars really when summing up the cons.Stylish and maneuverable.

The padded seat feels very nice and most other prams fall far short in a comfort comparison. Baby sits up high and seat is reversible. Frame folds up easily and to a small size.Difficult and frustrating at moments through a lengthy assembly period. Patience and time required. Instructions are multilingual, so you only have inadequate images to work.

Basket as noted in other reviews had me sitting for about 10 minutes thinking of a better approach. I found it best to unzip the bag and push from the inside.

Peg Perego Stroller

Satisfying snaps complete the process. Its locked in firm and its never fallen off! Also purchased a Joolz XL shopping basket for increased storage. It fits nicely when the cot is not being used.

The moulded tyres quickly show wear from rough terrain. Opening the hood is a little clunky and sometimes needs two hands to get into position. The Mamas and Papas Mylo is the sixth pram I've owned. I've been through two prams with each of my children! I decided with my third child to go all out and I saved to buy the Stokke Xplory. Unfortunately, I got ripped off terribly and was sold a counterfeit. It was a disaster.Anyway, I had to rush out and buy a new pram and couldn't afford to spend as much as I had done on the counterfeit Xplory.

I'd looked at the Mylo online previously and, the only reason I didn't buy it, was because I preferred the Xplory's appearance. I wish though, I'd bought the Mylo first. It's perfect for me.The shopping basket is surprisingly big and zips up, which helps with security.Out of all the prams I've owned, this one folds the best! I refused to sell my little Honda Jazz, so finding a pram to fit was really important. Taking the seat off can be a pain but only because you need somewhere to put it while folding the frame.

Unfortunately, it is for this reason that the underneath of the seat has sustained a few scratches from being placed on bitumen carparks. I think this will affect the resale.Another aspect that was important to me, was the pram had to be light. I live at the top of a steep hill and the Mylo is great for pushing up that hill. The puncture proof tyres have also been excellent as there is heaps of calthrop around my neighbourhood. The seat isn't machine washable so I bought a pram liner on-line, which is a small added expense. My mum also bought the nappy bag that attaches to the front of the frame as a new baby present. It was pretty pricey at $119 but again, is surprisingly big and unobtrusive.Another problem I found with all my other prams was that my feet/shins would hit the frame when going for 'power walks'. The design of the Mylo allows for a wide stride.

The handle can also accommodate all heights. All in all, I am absolutely stoked with the Mylo!easy to fold, light, good shopping basketwhere to put the seat when folding the frame, seat cover isn't machine washable. After reviewing dozens of prams online and in-store, we decided on the Mamas and Papas Mylo largely due to it's great contemporary styling, the ease of it's packing & folding and the fact that many places had it on sale at almost half off it's RRP. Oh, and Gwen Stefani has one! The fact that it includes everything - chassis, carrycot, seat, hood, apron, straps - was a bonus compared to some of the other minimalist offerings which charged extra for everything. Apart from the chassis, colours on everything else are fully interchangeable and my wife just loves the look of our plum and sandcastle unit, and one week in - it has been commented on almost as much as our beautiful baby.If we hadn't already bought a separate bassinet, I would have been happy to skip that purchase and exclusively use the one included with the Mylo. It clips in and out of the chassis easily after a bit of practice, has an adjustable tilt for propping up baby, a built-in curved base for use as a rocker and legs that fold out to prop it up flat. The pram wheel base of 60cm wide is perfect for getting through aisles and doorways without losing any stability and it folds and compresses amazingly easily to a good size which fits comfortably in the boot of our Mazda6 hatch. The only blemish is the shameful design of the under-carriage storage bag.

It took two hours to attach to the woeful mounting clips and I'm not convinced it will stay attached once the unit starts getting folded and loaded regularly. Once assembled, it's a small, stylish - albeit difficult to access compartment, but in reality, most mums on the go will want to drape a nappy bag over the handle for more practical storage, especially if they've given up on mounting the included bag, as I suspect many would. We love the unit and it's practicality is unrivalled, which is why I'm not deducting a star for the disgraceful storage bag mounting difficulties - which should be a one-off inconvenience.

The mounting mechanisam needs to be changed in the next edition, but they shouldn't change another thing. Fantastic pram / stroller which has incentivised my wife to get out and about.Contemporary styling, great bassinet is larger than most, very easy to fold and manoeuvre, great sale priceInstalling storage bag is atrociously difficult - poor design compared to rest of pram. A pram is something you use everyday so we were happy to spend money on it.

I wanted something that was more durable than the Bugaboo and good to look at so this was a natural choice. However, after 9 months my neighbour gave me her 5 year old Mountain Buggy and I relegated this pram to storage. When I first got this pram I LOVED it. However, it was the only pram I had ever used. Now after using a few others in the real world there are other prams out there that are ½ the price and a lot more practical.Love the look and the colours of the pram. I got lots of complements on it. The adjustable handle is great as my husband is tall and can walk comfortably with it.

The bassinet was great. We used it for the cot until it was too small. So easy to go out with too. Love that you can have the baby facing either way in both the pram and stroller option. The recline in the stroller is great.

Good height so your baby can see everything that is going on. The sunshade is very easy to use.The pram and accessories are expensive.

Hardly any storage under the pram and you lose this when you need to fold it for the car or putting away. We bought the extra storage bag but this does not fit a lot either. There is no storage for the stroller sunshade or rain cover so you have to have both on or carry one over your shoulder as they are too large and not flexible enough to fit in either storage area.

The stroller sunshade has an insect mesh attached to it that has to be down all the time or jammed up to the hood of the stroller. It has a large hard foot on it, in the end I cut the whole insect thing off.

There is no where easy or safe to grab to help up or down stairs, trains etc, I had people trying to help grab the footrest which clicks up or the bar in front of the baby which comes undone. You have to bend over and grab down low near the two front wheels to be safe.

The whole thing is quite heavy to lift and takes a lot of room to store. You need a big boot for this one, we couldn't fit it whole into our station wagon always had to empty out the bottom storage, then stow the legs and chair separately. There is really no option for a second child with this pram. There is a toddler strap that you can put on instead of the cup holder but how many toddlers will hold onto a strap for any length of time? There is no room for a skate board on the back.

If you choose the cup holder instead of the toddler it make the pram much wider, my cup holder got scrapped a lot. Its funky, durable, comfortable for baby with the padded seats and adjustable head-rest and is not too heavy to lift.Great looking pram, when out the pram gets admired just as much as my baby does! The bassinett is an added bonus, my baby is a very long baby and he is still sleeping comfortably in it (10weeks old). The pram converter is great to prop baby up on walks with a lot of back and side support when baby wants to look around. The 'gate' like bumper bar is great in terms of safety and also opens from either side making putting and taking baby out very easy.

Pram itself feels very sturdy and can be either left with the seat attached to fold or taken off to fold, making it not to heavy. The quality of materials used are impressive, and when washed still looked brand new. I also loved the option of having baby both face me and away for when he is older.

Mamas And Papas Skate Pram Instructions

I also purchased an additional cup holder and that clicked on easily. I was deciding between the Mylo and the Stokke but the added bassinett and light weight made my choice clear.I found the 'storage bag' difficult to attach under the pram, and it keeps coming off when i folded up the pram to put into the car.

Also it is not possible to convert this pram into being used for 2 children if needed in the future. A unique pram with a unique shape, let's face it- the style is the appeal. I have a long stride so it suited me over some other prams. They come with a bassinette as well as the seat.It looks awesome! It has a comfortable handle, great design, you can choose and mix and match some colours, the handle is adjustable, solid base construction, the base folds very easily, feels firm to push, manouvers quite well with the two front wheels, and rolls nicely.

You can use the bassinette normally instead of purchasing one- mamas and papas do come with a stand if you think you need it. The pram came in handy when rocking the baby to sleep in the bassinete as there was no need to move the baby after they fell asleep. We don't have all the colours here in Australia. When gumnuts etc get stuck in the wheels they leave indentations. It is reasonably heavy at 12 kilos. It is pricey.

Carrying the baby in the bassinette can be really heavy. This pram ticks all the boxes for me. It is very easy to assemble and take apart (you only need to remove the seat and the chassis can be collapsed with one hand) and leaves plenty of space in the boot. The seat can face forward or rear, again very easy to change and has a few different levels of recline/ incline positions. It is also higher than most strollers, although not as high as the Stokke but high enough for bub to be able to see me comfortably (and vice versa) and easy enough for me to move bub in/out of the pram which is great for my sore back! The handle is of generous length and can be extended so I can take bub for a power walk without constantly kicking the pram.

The wheels are lockable. The package also comes with a bassinet.

I purchased a bassinet stand separately and bub sleeps in it at home. The pram also comes in a variety of colours so you can mix and match if you want to. Plus I got it on special, which makes it excellent value!!Easy to manoeuvre and fold. Higher than most prams. Looks very stylish. The storage bag that sits under the pram keeps coming off. This is the only thing I don't like about this pram.

Pushchair ReviewWe all know that planning ahead can save you a fortune in the long run. Buying a pushchair with the built-in adaptability to eventually accommodate two children has got to be good advice if you are planning to have a standard sized family. Of course, planning is one thing and nature is another so with all the optimism in the world, number two may never happen. Buying a good quality single pushchair with the adaptability to morph into a double when necessary will cover all eventualities and meet your needs, whatever comes your way.The Mamas and Papas Skate is a versatile single that can be easily transformed into a double. What's in the box. Junior seat RRP TBCFrameThe Mamas & Papas Skate is quite distinctive which is predominantly due to the frame. It has a wide flat wheelbase with what looks like a high-wire safety net stretched from the front to the back. This net is actually the basket that, when accompanied with the elasticated strap on top can stretch to a relatively decent capacity – a medium change bag or two bags of shopping would sink nicely into this stretch hammock secured by the diagonal elastics. It has quiet and intimidating, overcomplicated look but is actually very straightforward. The foam covered handle can span a huge arc of 79 – 112 cms which breaches the largest of differences in parent height.FoldA little lower down the handle, are two switches that are the primary procedure in the fold.

Mamas And Papas Skate Review

When they have been flicked, they remain in place until you step on the button in the centre of the back axle marked ‘FOLD'. The handle will then drop towards the back wheels and the auto-lock bracket on the right will click into place. To make the fold more compact the handle can fold inwards, creating a foot to enable it to stand vertically if necessary.Stop and startThe brake is applied by stepping on one of the two plastic silver pedals located on the back axle. The release is flip-flop friendly and just a matter of flicking the pedal upwards. The rear wheels are 27cm foam tyres that can be removed from the chassis by simply pulling on the silver button below the brake. Likewise, the narrow 17.5cms front foam wheels are removed by twisting the control knob above them.

They can be locked off to be unidirectional by stepping on the locking mechanism above the wheel and released in the same way as the brake - with a flick of your foot.Soft stuff and the seatThe fabrics on the CityScape Skate, our test victim, are beautiful. Instead of a flat regular black, the CityScape is more of a dark grey suiting fabric which sounds stiff but actually looks really classy. The contrasting canopy lining is a cream, red/grey stripe that softens the overall appearance. The seat is 24cm deep and well padded. With a width of 33cms and a back height of 50cm, it will accommodate the largest toddler.

The five point harness is basic and a bit of an irritation to alter in shoulder height, it's easier to achieve if you remove the seat from the frame. Slide your hand up the fabric at the back, here you can feel the lug that needs twisting to push though its current location hole to reposition in one of the other three options. The calf rest is not positionable and is bizarrely covered in foam along the foot bar.

It's strange, but convenient when this is one of the primary points of contact that an infant will reach for when attempting to toddle. However, it's not so practical when they are more confident and climbing in and out with soiled shoes. The Skate's solution to the bumper bar is unique. I have never seen a gate-opening/multi-angle bumper bar engineered in this way. The bar attaches to the frame by sliding it over a spring loaded button that locks into place once it's located properly. To open the gate on either side, you need to squeeze the release buttons on the top and bottom of the hinge, it will then swing out to give you or your child better access to the seat. The bar itself is covered in a squidgy plastic sleeve which can rotate around the bar.a great source of amusement or even a handy teething aid for your toddler! The canopy is an average size until you unzip the two extra segments, making it huge. One of the segments has a flap that can be peeled back to reveal a netted panel.

This is really useful for keeping an eye on your tot or to allow ventilation in the summer to the heavily shaded seat.Reclining is controlled by the obvious, easy-access lever on the back of the seat. The three choices range from upright to fully horizontal with a snoozing angle in between. The matching carrycot is beautiful and styled to co-ordinate with the rest of the pushchair. But don't get too comfortable, the latest incarnation of the Skate adapts the seat into a carrycot/pramette (as depicted in the picture at the top of this review). We will be examining this closer as soon as we have the latest model in house for inspection.Chair to chassisIt took me a while to work out how to lift the chair from the frame as, yet again, it is very unconventional but like most things, it is easy once you know how.The buttons that need to be deployed to release the chair are in disguise as the sockets for the canopy. They need to be pushed down with your thumbs as you lift the seat off. It is really uncomplicated and a simple matter of squeeze and lift. The hubs into which the seat is mounted have another little party trick. By pressing the silver buttons on top, the brackets can slide up or down the frame allowing you to select a high, medium or low seating position.

With the seat having the ability to be mounted in either parent or front facing mode, you can have a closer affinity with your child when the seat is in the higher parent facing position or greater freedom to get in and out on their own in the lower, front facing position.ConclusionThe Mamas & Papas Skate is a peculiar pushchair but ticks all the functional boxes as well as being attractive and comfortable. I love the peculiar bumper bar and the location and size of the recline lever. It is superbly manoeuvrable and the variety of seating positions and handle heights make it easy to customise to suit your height and reach. The Skate is attractive and built to withstand anything an urban environment might throw at it, however I can't help but criticise the plastic they have used for the ‘doing' bits. Every lever and button has been made from the same ‘cheap' looking plastic. It not only looks cheap but has a brittle quality about it that lets the overall quality of the pushchair down.

Mamas And Papas Skate Pram Instructions

After all, the ‘doing' bits are the parts that you will be using every day, to stop, fold, recline etc.We give the Mamas & Papas Skate in single mode 3.5 out of 5 stars.
